IoT system supplier in turnkey solutions takes all their business to the Danish maritime industry
We decided 4 years ago to relaunch our GSM monitoring devices as IoT devices that are always online, sending real-time data 24/7/365. It has since turned out to be a good decision.
Now we find ourselves at a crossroads again.
The last 3 years of business activities within the development of our IoT system have been very much characterized by turnkey solutions for primarily industrial ports – and we would like to continue to do so! Because that’s what we want – and that’s actually what we’re most passionate about.
However, that does not mean separation to the existing engagements we have today. We offer the same solutions for agriculture and other tasks with management, monitoring, GPS tracking and data collection. The biggest change in our new course is our primary commitment is now towards industrial ports.
We would like to introduce our new vision and mission for you today and the thoughts behind the new development we have taken.
Vision
Vikingegaarden A/S is the country’s leading supplier of IoT solutions to industrial ports, bringing together different systems under a cloud-based system with data integration for e.g. ERP financial systems.
Mission
With the ProPower system, Vikingegaarden A/S offers turnkey solutions with management, monitoring and data collection of facilities in electricity, water and heat as well as process equipment such as access control and other SCADA systems for industrial ports and commercial customers.
Creating value across the value chain at the port
Vikingegaarden A/S provides ports with a solution that creates value across the value chain with the system ProPower. Across the organization, ProPower provides insight into the operating status and consumption data from various systems. The system also ensures that the right information is not only available, but available to the right employees. In short, if a port wants a smart, Danish-developed and cost-effective IoT solution for digitising facilities and activities, ProPower is the go-to solution in 2020. It is a cloud-based system that communicates 2-way with each installation via WiFi or the GSM network in real time. It is easy to extract consumption data from the cloud system or integrate into your own ERP financial system.

“When I look only 1-3 years ahead, I see the port with few systems that they actively use every day – and that is ERP accounting system and ProPower SCADA system with data exchange via WebService ERP. This is how other major companies also do it today, where they have all their activities and assets managed in few systems. I see that customers will require more and more data integration for their ERP financial system from various data collection devices they have. It is not only reasonable, but also cost-effective in the long term. I see that they use systems such as the ProPower SCADA system as a tool for digitising facilities and activities at the port, where they then get all consumption data directly into their ERP financial system via WebService ERP ”, says CEO Ulrik Østergaard.
“Our solution makes our customers customer self-serviced in relation to facilities, and facility equipment and customers can manage themselves with self-service. Systems must be self-driven, customers must self-service the equipment, the accountant can make an invoice at any time, and the technician will be notified immediately if there are any problems. This saves the company a lot of resources and time consumption, and thus achieve considerable operating savings,” concludes CEO Ulrik Østergaard.
Ports using the ProPower system today are Esbjerg Port, Hvide Sande Port, Thyborøn Port, Hirtshals Port, Port of Frederikshavn, Horsens Port and LINDØ port of ODENSE.
