Nykøbing Mors Harbors new floating bridge

Large project at Nykøbing Mors Havn

In June 2023, we delivered a 96m long and 4m wide concrete floating bridge to Nykøbing Mors Harbour. This floating bridge is made with cables for electricity, water and drainage. This is because there must be 10 new houseboats for the floating bridge.

Houseboats

Nykøbing Mors Havn has invested in increasing tourism. This is happening as Morsø’s tourism is increasing and new measures must now be invested in to get more tourism to the island.
With this investment, the plan is to have houseboats for rent in the marina, which are ready for holiday rentals.
Stern Hausboot is responsible for the delivery of the 10 houseboats to the garden. This is done so that tourists can experience Denmark and Mors in a completely new way.

The floating bridge

In the winter of 2023, we signed the contract to deliver the floating bridge to the project and in April 2023 we started on the project. We were supplied with concrete pontoons from Pontech in Sweden, and began assembling the 96m long concrete floating bridge, which was completed in June 2023.

The port project

The project with the houseboats and the floating bridge is part of a large investment project for tourism in Nykøbing Mors Harbour. It is made more many others at the port.

Experience center
There will be an experience center where people can experience and utilize Limfjorden’s shellfish, strengthen the sea sports associations with new facilities and create a better framework for the communities, which can help strengthen children and young people’s attachment to the fjord, and increase tourism and provide better opportunities for businesses around the harbour.

Development of areas around the port
Space will be created for the many facilities that must take place, such as:

Seafood Festival
Stands for markets, festival activities and Food Trucks.
Create better urban spaces, with opportunities for living and activities

Other projects
There is also a focus on infrastructure to better connect the city with the fjord. Focus will also be placed on the commercial port, so that you can get up close to catching shellfish and fish, as well as providing plenty of space for cargo ships and coasters.
