Telemetry can use GSM communication between remote measurement points and a central control system. The installed equipment and network requirements are confirmed for the project.

Use Gate2Gate where operating data needs to move between remote measurement points, a central control system and Emiko. Define the values and interfaces first, then select the telemetry and integration arrangement.

Who needs industrial telemetry and data mirroring

Utilities and site operators use operational readings such as flow, pressure, water level and temperature in their control and reporting systems. Gate2Gate addresses the exchange of that data from distributed measurement points and between connected systems.

Applications include heating and water supply networks. The useful starting point is a data requirement: which values need to move, which system produces them and which system will use them.

Review the measuring point and communication arrangement

Document the existing sensors or meters, available interfaces, power and physical access at each measurement point. Telemetry can use GSM transfer through SMS or GPRS; the actual communication equipment and available network service must be checked for the proposed installation.

Wireless transmission can avoid a data cable between a remote measuring point and the control centre. It does not remove the need to specify local sensor connections, power and installation conditions.

Data mirroring means keeping the same operational data available in more than one system.
