Cumulus Systems

Weather stations and water monitoring for ports, agriculture and industry. Each installation measures the parameters required at the site and sends live readings, history and threshold alerts to the Emiko platform.

Water and environment

Water level, temperature and current, reported live.

02 - Applications

Where Cumulus weather and water data is used

A Cumulus installation measures the parameters required at the site and sends live readings, history and threshold alerts to the Emiko platform. The same station is configured differently for a harbor, a farm or an industrial site.

01

Ports and marinas

Wind speed and gusts at the moorings, sea state and water level at the entrance. The Weather Station for Ports shares selected readings with harbor staff and water users, and OceanWatcher adds radar water level measurement, with current data from the WCM 100 where it is required.

02

Agriculture

Rainfall, wind, air and soil temperature, evapotranspiration information and frost warnings for irrigation and field work. The Weather Station for Agriculture works together with FlexVander pump control from NordWatch Automation.

03

Construction sites and industry

Local wind, rain and temperature observations for site planning, lifting decisions and documentation. The Industrial Weather Station keeps historical records for compliance and reporting.

04

Public authorities and long-term series

Municipalities and coastal authorities use the data series for planning, alerting and documentation. The readings from our own station in Vonge are published live as an example of what a public share looks like.

03 - How we work

From site survey to live readings

Cumulus Systems has decades of meteorological experience behind it. A new installation follows five steps.

  1. 01

    Specify

We agree which parameters matter at the site: the 12 standard parameters from wind speed to solar radiation, plus optional sensors such as precipitation, ice, CO2, water level, current, cloud height and visibility.

  2. 02

    Configure

Sensors, mast, communication and power are selected for the location: 230 V mains, or a solar cell for off grid installations.

  3. 03

    Install

The station is installed and calibrated on site, and the connection to the Emiko platform is verified.

  4. 04

    Operate

Live readings, history and threshold alarms are available in Emiko, on the web and in the app, and selected values can be shared publicly.

  5. 05

    Service

Sensor checks, replacements and support for the whole service life of the station.

04 - Questions

Frequently asked questions about weather and water monitoring

What does a Cumulus weather station measure?

The standard configuration covers 12 parameters, from wind speed and gusts to UV and solar radiation. Seven optional sensors add precipitation gauge, ice, CO2, water level, current, cloud height and visibility, selected for the site.

Can the station run without mains power?

Yes. The stations run on 230 V mains or on a solar cell for off grid installations, and OceanWatcher offers a 60 or 80 W solar panel option with an optional 20 Ah battery on the WLM 200 and WCM 100.

How do I access the data?

All readings go to the Emiko platform, where you can view live values and history, configure weather alarms and share selected readings with staff, water users or the public.

How are water level and current measured?

OceanWatcher uses radar water level monitoring with the WLM 100 and WLM 200, and the WCM 100 when current data is also required, with a horizontal current measurement range of 1.5 to 120 m.
