Key features of the WaterStation water supply

A complete system: flow meter, valve, electrical panel and control box, reporting to the Emiko platform.

The whole berth at sunset: the supply pedestal on its plinth and, beside it, the hydrant, the standpipe and the flush service point that provide the water.

24/7 self service water

Customers activate and close their water supply without staff present. The number of outlets and permitted simultaneous use are confirmed for the selected unit.

MID approved flow meter

Cabinet models use a Sensus MID-approved flow meter. The TIN cabinet specification includes class R160 or R315 with pulse output or M-Bus, according to configuration.

Phone, RFID or app

Open the water with a phone call, an RFID or aKey card, or the Emiko Customer App. When the water is closed the customer receives an SMS with the consumed volume.

Billing without meter reading

Consumption is registered electronically in the Emiko platform, so the operator retrieves settlement data and invoices directly, and a customer PO number can be attached.

Automatic fault reporting

The system constantly monitors its own operating status and alerts Vikingegaarden's technical staff directly if an irregular situation occurs.

Heated TIN cabinet

The TIN cabinet has a thermostatically controlled internal heater and a documented external operating range from -20 to 50 °C. Pipework and hydrant frost protection are planned for the site.

Hot dip galvanised cabinet

TIN cabinets are hot dip galvanised steel, corrosion category C5-M for marine sites, with a square key lock, lifting eyes and PN10 rating.

Cabinet or buried well

Choose a cabinet beside the service equipment or a buried well with a cover, riser and control box at ground level. The water, electrical and civil connections are planned for the location.

How it works

How WaterStation works for the customer and the operator

Connect, press, authenticate, fill, close: the whole visit is self service and every litre lands in the Emiko platform.

The flush service point opened: the hinged lid folded back and the blue water valve and coupling sitting in the recess under the checker plate cover.

WaterStation is a complete system for managing water supply at docks and marinas: a flow meter, a normally closed valve, an electrical panel and a small stainless steel control box with two push buttons and a status lamp (yellow while opening or closing, green when ready, red on fault or busy). For the documented TIN cabinet valve, opening takes about 10 seconds and closing about 20.

Where a requisition number is required, the OrdreManager workflow lets the customer text back a reference or PO number that is attached to that consumption record, so the invoice carries the customer's own cost code.

WaterStation on the Emiko platform

The same phone or RFID credential a customer uses on other Emiko connected equipment at the site also opens the water.

Water usage is automatically tracked and recorded in the Emiko platform, making it easy to monitor consumption for billing and documentation. Operators retrieve settlement data and invoice directly, and invoicing can be automated through the Oeconomia API. Cabinet models are installed with a ServicePedestal and draw power from it, so electricity and water at the waterfront are managed in one system.

Technical details

WaterStation models: cabinet or buried well

TIN cabinet specifications apply to that series. The documented galvanising specification includes a coating of at least 93 microns and corrosion categories C5-M or C4; service-life assumptions are confirmed for the project and do not state a warranty for the whole installation. TIN cabinets are PN10, with a square key lock, two lifting eyes and optional TBS overflow valve. Well models can be fitted with frost proof or buried hydrants. Confirm the well power arrangement and simultaneous outlet operation for the selected model.

WaterStation: self service water supply for docks, marinas and ports

WaterStation turns a hose point on the pier into a metered, self service water supply that customers open themselves and operators bill from the Emiko platform, without a single manual meter reading.

Who WaterStation is for

WaterStation is built for sites that hand out fresh water to changing customers: fishing harbors filling trawlers before departure, marinas serving guest boats, and ports where visiting vessels need water at odd hours. It is the water only member of Vikingegaarden's supply pedestal range, the right choice where power is already covered.

Because the whole visit is self service, the water point works around the clock without staff present. The customer connects a hose, authenticates and fills; the operator sees every litre in the Emiko platform. The permitted simultaneous use of outlets is confirmed for the selected unit.

Choosing a cabinet or buried well

Cabinet models in the TIN and MBO series mount on a wall or beside a ServicePedestal and draw power from the connected pedestal. They have DN65 or DN80 water inlets, Storz B coupling outlets and a Sensus MID-approved flow meter. Detailed TIN cabinet specifications should not be assumed for every MBO model.

TIN wells provide a buried format for locations where surface access and traffic matter. Models have DN32 to DN100 inlets and 1 to 3 DN80 outlets, with cover variants for pedestrian areas or heavier traffic. The power arrangement and permitted simultaneous hose use are confirmed for the selected well.

Installation and winter operation

The location determines the water connection, electrical supply, drainage and civil work. Cabinet mounting and well cover loading are specified for the surrounding harbor operations.

The TIN cabinet has hot dip galvanised steel construction, a thermostatically controlled heater and a documented external operating range from -20 to 50 °C. Frost protection for exposed pipework and the selected hydrant is assessed separately for the site.

Daily operation on the Emiko platform

The customer journey is short: connect the hose, press the top button on the stainless control box, authenticate with an RFID or aKey card, a phone call to the number printed on the unit, or the Emiko Customer App. The documented TIN cabinet valve opens in about 10 seconds, the flow meter records consumption, and when the customer presses the bottom button to close, an SMS arrives with the volume used. A status lamp shows yellow while opening or closing, green when ready and red on fault.

For the operator, harbor water metering happens entirely in the Emiko platform: settlement data is retrieved and invoiced directly, invoicing can be automated through the Oeconomia API, and the OrdreManager workflow lets a customer text back a PO number that lands on the invoice. The system also monitors its own operating status and alerts Vikingegaarden's technical staff directly when something is irregular.

Water dispensing within the harbor service plan

WaterStation adds customer activation and consumption records to a dedicated water point. This is useful where electricity is already provided separately or where the water installation requires a cabinet or buried well.

Can a customer attach a purchase order number to a filling?

Yes. With the OrdreManager workflow the customer calls in, receives an approval SMS and replies with the PO or reference number within a few minutes before the outlet activates. The number is attached to that consumption record and appears on the invoice.

How is WaterStation prepared for winter?
