How it works

How the Emiko platform connects equipment, users and data

Connected devices report to the platform, operators manage the installation, and customers use the services they have permission to access.

Close view of a phone showing the EMIKO start screen in front of a Marinella NEO panel with its QR label.

Emiko equipment records electricity, water or heat consumption according to the connected meters and services. Each supported unit communicates directly with the cloud, so its connection does not depend on a shared controller on the pier. Compatible devices retain local consumption records if communication is interrupted and synchronise when the connection returns. Confirm the available offline functions for the selected equipment.

New compatible units can be added to the same platform as the installation grows. Agree the equipment, customer permissions, tariffs and reporting requirements before commissioning. The detailed platform presentation and access to the apps are available at emiko.app.

  • Equipment registers consumption locally and reports 1 to 1 to the Emiko cloud

  • The company sees consumption per customer, building or area and pulls documentation for invoicing

  • Operators receive notifications on outages or lost communication and see status in app or cloud

  • Users register with the company, receive rights and operate equipment in the Emiko Customer App

  • New installations are added to the same cloud system; devices are upgraded remotely

Ecosystem

The hardware family managed by the Emiko platform

The platform connects supported Vikingegaarden supply, monitoring, access and lighting equipment. Each product page describes its own configuration options.

Product guide

Choosing marina utility management software for your equipment

Define which equipment you want to connect, what customers should be able to use, and how consumption records will reach your operations and finance teams.

Who the Emiko platform is for

Emiko supports operators of marinas, ports, commercial buildings and distributed sites. Its role is to connect equipment operation with customer permissions, consumption records and reporting. A port team can monitor connected supply pedestals and service points, while customers access the services assigned to them through the Emiko Customer App.

Earlier Vikingegaarden material uses the names ProPower and VMS Cloud. Emiko is the current platform name. For an existing installation, confirm the equipment version and upgrade path with Vikingegaarden.

One cloud for consumption, status and users

The platform brings three related tasks together. Consumption records show the measured use of electricity, water and heat. Equipment status and configured notifications help operators identify outages or lost communication. Customer permissions determine which connected services a registered user may operate.

The useful starting point is the installation itself: identify the outlets, meters and service points to be connected, then agree which records and permissions are needed for daily operation.

Onboarding and growing the installation

Start with the required supply, metering and access equipment, then extend the installation with compatible units as the site develops. Each supported device communicates with the cloud. Available remote updates and additional services depend on the equipment and service agreement.

Vikingegaarden is based in Denmark and supplies both connected equipment and the platform. Discuss the site, existing hardware and operating requirements with the same team when planning a new installation or upgrade.

From meter reading to invoice

For a marina, Emiko is the difference between reading meters on the pier and running a billing platform. The consumption each customer generates is registered automatically, and documentation for electricity, water and heat is pulled directly from the system for invoicing. Cost mapping per facility shows management where consumption actually goes. For automated billing, the Oeconomia API transfers the registered consumption into the company's financial system, so invoices and reports are produced without manual data entry.

Security, hosting and reliability

Communication between equipment and the cloud is encrypted, with hosting and backup through suppliers in Denmark. Compatible equipment can keep local consumption records during a network interruption and synchronise them when communication returns.

Offline functions, remote updates and service coverage should be confirmed for the selected devices and agreement. The platform is part of the equipment installation, so operating requirements should be reviewed together with connectivity, commissioning and maintenance.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions about the Emiko platform

What is the Emiko platform, and what happened to ProPower?

Emiko is Vikingegaarden's IoT platform for companies that need consumption registration and user management for facilities such as electricity, water and heat from one system. It is the current name of the platform formerly known as ProPower; the equipment and the cloud system are the same family, now under the Emiko name.

Which consumption does Emiko register?

Electricity, water and heat consumption in commercial buildings and decentralised areas. The company gets an overview of consumption data per customer or building from one system, can map costs for the various facilities and can retrieve documentation for invoicing directly from the system.

Does the equipment work without an internet connection?

Compatible equipment retains local consumption records during a connection loss and synchronises when communication returns. The services available while offline depend on the equipment and configuration. Confirm the required behaviour when specifying the installation.

How is operating status monitored?

All Emiko equipment is monitored. If there is an outage, no communication or a similar problem, notifications are sent to key persons and operators. The company sees the operating status of the entire installation in the app or the cloud system and can delegate tasks from there.

Can the system grow after the first purchase?

Yes. Every device reports to the same cloud based system, so new installations are simply added when the company expands. You decide the size of the purchase yourself, and each device can be upgraded over the cloud with extended services and features according to agreement.

How is data protected?

Communication between equipment and the cloud is encrypted. Data hosting and backup use suppliers in Denmark. Confirm the requirements for your installation and service agreement with Vikingegaarden.

What can a customer do in the Emiko Customer App?

After registering with the company and receiving rights, a user can switch outlets on and off, see an overview map of available equipment, see which outlets are free, follow the consumption of an ongoing purchase and look up consumption history, including which port a purchase was registered in.

Which equipment can be connected to the Emiko platform?

Compatible supply pedestals, water stations, meters, lighting and access controllers can connect to Emiko. Start with the relevant Vikingegaarden product pages, then confirm the hardware version, communication method and services for your project. Existing equipment may need an upgrade or a separately agreed integration.
