Sustainability
For Vikingegaarden, sustainability starts with service life, repairability and measured operation. The aim is to keep equipment useful for longer and to give operators the data needed to manage power, water and field operations.
Long service life
Vikingegaarden pedestals installed around twenty years ago remain in service. New systems are specified for the operating environment and designed so that serviceable components can be accessed and replaced.
Retrofit before replacement
Where an enclosure and installation remain structurally sound, a controller, meter or communication module can often be upgraded without replacing the complete unit. Retrofit options protect the material and installation work already invested in the site.
Measured use of resources
The Emiko platform records consumption from connected electricity and water meters. Operators can use these records for billing, reporting and operational follow-up. Monitoring and alarms also allow many routine checks to be completed remotely.
Product and supplier decisions
- Specify materials and protection for the actual environment and expected load.
- Prefer maintainable configurations with replaceable components.
- Keep software and connected controllers updateable where the hardware supports it.
- Evaluate partner equipment for documented performance and service support.
- Use digital documentation and reduce unnecessary paper in daily administration.
Clear limits on environmental claims
Service life and measured consumption can support lower resource use, but they are not a product life-cycle assessment. We do not describe a product as carbon neutral or environmentally harmless without documented evidence for that specific claim.
People and workplace
Vikingegaarden works to provide an inclusive workplace and practical accommodations for individual needs. Flexible working arrangements are used where the role allows them, and company activities support cooperation across the five divisions.
