How it works
Choose a visual beacon for a fixed mark, a directional light for approach guidance or a racon for radar identification.

A pier beacon provides a visual mark at the harbor entrance. Options include self contained solar units and separate lighting elements where power is available. Directional port entrance lights provide approach guidance; their range and optical arrangement are specified for the site.
A radar beacon, or racon, responds to ship radar with a coded identifier. Vikingegaarden helps combine these functions in the marking plan.

Ecosystem
The beacons come from AtoN House Nordic partner manufacturers. Vikingegaarden selects, delivers and supports them.
Fixed beacon lanterns are sourced from our range of omnidirectional beacon lanterns, and where radar identification is also needed from the HEKLEO racon range or the Seabeacon 2 System 6. Vikingegaarden picks the beacon type and range for each position, takes care of delivery and commissioning, and supports the installation afterwards. Where a beacon is connected, remote monitoring and control run on the Emiko platform, alongside your lanterns and buoys.

Fixed visual beacons mark harbor entrances, fairways, headlands and offshore structures. Solar powered units suit positions without an external supply; separate lighting elements can use power available at the site. Compare individual marine lanterns when specifying the light source.
Port entrance lights provide directional guidance for the approach. The required range, optical arrangement and mounting are specified for the site. See range and sector lights for the distinction between aligned lights and defined colour sectors.
A racon sends a coded response to ship radar, adding identification that does not rely on seeing a light. The HEKLEO and Seabeacon lines offer different band configurations. Our radar beacon page covers these options separately.
