ProPower equipment monitoring: the original alarm functions

This archive describes the monitoring and alarm functions previously published for ProPower equipment. It covers central alarm records, notification of responsible staff and diagnostic examples from a ServicePedestal configuration.
Current monitoring and customer functions are described on the Emiko platform page. The connected equipment and configuration determine which conditions can be monitored.
Central alarm records and operating history
The original system collected alarms, reports and events with historical data in VMS Cloud. Bringing messages into one view helped staff review equipment across sites such as industrial harbors and industrial estates.
Critical-alarm notifications were intended to direct the responsible employees to equipment requiring attention. Response time and the effect on operations still depended on the fault and the site’s service arrangements.
ServicePedestal diagnostics described at the time
The original article listed these examples for the documented equipment configuration:
- supply-voltage phase failure
- abnormal relay operation, including a relay forced closed
- tripped HFI relays and circuit breakers
- communication with key readers, energy meters and connected equipment
- validation of energy-meter data and reporting of detected errors
- temperature monitoring and heater control where a compatible WaterStation was fitted
- status of internal I/O expansion and OnSiteLight DALI modules
- a history of settings changes and the user making them
Specifying monitoring for a current installation
Agree the connected equipment, monitored conditions, alarm recipients and service response during project planning. The historical list should not be assumed to apply to every present-day controller or pedestal.
