Preparing marina utilities for winter starts with deciding which services will remain in use and which will close for the season. Decide which water services remain available

Identify the exposed pipework and outlets, the water services needed through winter and the protection provided by the installed system. Arrange seasonal shutdown or frost protection according to the design and instructions for that installation.

Damaged covers, seals, connections or cables need assessment under the equipment's maintenance instructions. Staff observations are useful for reporting a concern; remote status information does not replace an electrical inspection.

Check monitoring and the response arrangement

• Confirm water-system shutdown or protection instructions with the installation team.
• Arrange the required equipment inspection and maintenance work.
• Check the configured reporting and alarm recipients.
• Record responsibility for customer calls, site attendance and repairs.
• Plan the checks needed before closed services return to use.
