ProPower NextGen: the 2023 map, alarm and weather-data plans

In 2023, Vikingegaarden outlined the next stage of ProPower development: a device map, clearer alarm handling and weather-station integration. Development had been under way since 2022, with customer requests shaping the plans.

This article records that announcement. Current equipment, customer access and operating functions are described on the Emiko platform page.

A map of equipment and operating status

Customers had asked for a map showing their units and operational status. The planned front page would let users select a device on the map and open its information.

The announcement also described changes to alarm handling. Responsible staff would be able to identify the unit associated with a fault and review lists of active alarms.

Weather stations in the first planned release

The release plan put weather stations for ports, industry and construction first after the summer holidays. Following the takeover of Cumulus in 2022, Vikingegaarden planned to bring station status and measurements into the same platform.

Viewing and sharing weather data were part of that work, including publication on a customer’s website and data sharing with DMI. Further ProPower NextGen functions were to be announced later.
