Jan Nygaard joins Vikingegaarden's AtoN team

In May 2025, Vikingegaarden announced that Jan Nygaard had joined as an engineer for aids to navigation (AtoN). He brought more than 20 years of technical field experience, including four years focused on AtoN installations.

Installation and service experience

Jan's experience included marine equipment, obstruction lights and bridge-surveillance systems, with projects for the Danish Maritime Authority on major Danish bridges. His announced role at Vikingegaarden covered site assessment, installation, commissioning and service for navigation-light and monitoring projects.

From specification to handover

AtoN projects combine optical requirements, power, communications, structural work and authority documentation. The field role described in the appointment was to connect those parts at the installation and verify that the delivered system matched the agreed specification.

Navigation projects in Denmark and Iceland

The appointment added field capacity for Vikingegaarden's navigation projects in Denmark, Iceland and other Nordic markets. The stated work included lanterns, sector and range lights, radar beacons, power systems and remote monitoring.
