Björn Jóhannsson, Vikingegaarden's representative in Iceland

In this May 2025 profile, Vikingegaarden introduced Björn Jóhannsson as its representative partner in Iceland. His role supported local dialogue with ports and helped the project team understand operating conditions, procurement needs and existing harbor infrastructure.

Maritime and harbor experience

Björn spent more than ten years at sea and subsequently worked for more than 25 years with fishing gear and harbor supplies. His experience included equipment used around Icelandic ports, such as fender systems, steel piles, ladders, lanterns and lighting.

That background provided a local point of contact during early assessment and coordination. Product selection and technical specifications were still validated for each site.

Local dialogue and project responsibilities

The representative role covered introductions, communication in the Icelandic market and local knowledge. Vikingegaarden retained responsibility for quotations, contracts, invoicing, engineering scope and project execution unless a contract stated otherwise.

This arrangement gave customers local support during initial dialogue while keeping technical and commercial accountability clear.
