Concrete floating platform for a Copenhagen harbor sauna

Wooden sauna building and deck on a floating platform in Copenhagen Harbor.

Vikingegaarden was commissioned to deliver an 8 m concrete floating bridge for MAST as part of a public sauna and swimming-zone project in the Port of Copenhagen. The order was announced in July 2023.

A floating foundation for a mobile sauna

The Municipality of Copenhagen was developing additional public saunas and swimming zones in the harbor, with MAST responsible for the work. The mobile saunas were intended to give the public more opportunities to use the waterfront.

Vikingegaarden's part of the project was an 8 m long concrete floating structure to support one of the saunas. The order specified Pontech concrete pontoons as the floating foundation.

Project delivery through Green Harbor Technology

The project followed the partnership between Vikingegaarden and Pontech, established in November 2022. Green Harbor Technology supplies floating structures for harbor projects, with specification and installation coordinated for the intended use.
