In June 2023, Vikingegaarden delivered a 96 m long and 4 m wide concrete floating bridge to Nykøbing Mors Harbor. Cables and piping for electricity, water and drainage were fitted for 10 new houseboats planned along the structure.

From contract to completion

The floating bridge contract was signed in the winter of 2023, and project work began in April 2023. Pontech supplied the concrete pontoons from Sweden, and Vikingegaarden assembled the floating bridge on site. The structure was completed in June 2023.

Preparing for rental houseboats

The harbor planned to offer houseboats for holiday rental in the marina. Stern Hausboot was responsible for delivering the 10 houseboats. The floating bridge provided the mooring structure and the utilities required for that plan.

Part of the harbor's wider development plan

The houseboats and floating bridge formed part of a wider tourism investment at Nykøbing Mors Harbor. Other planned initiatives included an experience center focused on the Limfjord's shellfish, new facilities for sea sports associations, and spaces for local communities and visitors.

The plan also included areas for a seafood festival, markets, food trucks and everyday waterfront activities. Infrastructure was intended to connect the town more closely with the fjord while retaining space for commercial port activity, cargo ships and coasters.
