SH Group and Vikingegaarden announce shore power collaboration

SH Group and Vikingegaarden announced a collaboration on shore power for Danish ports. SH Group's scope covered container-based electrical and mechanical equipment, while Vikingegaarden's scope covered customer access, metering, operating records and invoicing integration.
Shore connection and vessel operation
A compatible vessel can transfer an agreed electrical load from its auxiliary engine to the shore connection. For that transferred load, auxiliary-engine exhaust, noise and vibration are removed at the dock. The total greenhouse-gas effect is project-specific and depends on the vessel baseline, electricity generation and conversion losses.
Metering and customer access
Connected metering assigns electricity use to the vessel and port call. Authorized crews can access configured services, while port staff use the records for operational review and invoicing. Local behavior during a communication interruption is defined by the installed controller configuration.
Planning the electrical and operational scope
Vessel voltage, frequency, connector, load profile, grid capacity, conversion equipment, cable handling, protection and metering must be assessed together. Mobile equipment can reduce permanent waterfront work for the unit, but the electrical connection and grid requirements remain site-specific.
