Vikingegaarden and ROLEC agree on marina utility pedestals
Vikingegaarden A/S announced an exclusive bilateral agreement with ROLEC Services for marina utility pedestals supplying electricity and water. The agreement combined ROLEC equipment with Vikingegaarden's ProPower IoT technology and defined how the two companies would handle distribution, assembly and software sales.
Three parts of the agreement
- Vikingegaarden was named the exclusive sales distributor of ROLEC supply stands for Denmark.
- ROLEC Services was to assemble new intelligent supply stands at its factory using Vikingegaarden components.
- ROLEC Services gained the right to market and sell Vikingegaarden's software for communication, control, access, usage registration and payment worldwide, excluding Greater Denmark. This included the ProPower Marina app.
Utility equipment and ProPower technology
The announcement described ROLEC's experience in outdoor electrical equipment and more than three decades of supplying marina utility stands. Its range was described as including over 25 variations for different project requirements.
Vikingegaarden's ProPower system was described as a web and IoT solution for monitoring electricity, water, light and heat consumption, as well as maritime markings such as buoys. Equipment installed at customer sites could be viewed and controlled through an app, including access to configured electricity, water and lighting services.
Plans for assembly and retrofit
The release set out plans for the companies to work together from August. The proposed supply stands would record electricity and water consumption and collect payment through the app, without a separate credit-card terminal at each service point.
The partnership scope included sales in Denmark and other markets, plus Smart Kits for converting existing supply stands to ProPower. These were the arrangements announced at the time.
